Am working on Charlie roundfield now and got some smooth shots. The important thing is also to get the right audio as you've shown.

Seemed appropriate for the clip. Good test for our IAMAMO projects this summer; I want students to do these one minute machinimas in a day; six hours from start to finish once they know the tools. I think we can get a strong podcast going if we have enough students ready to make movies. There's a younger Brosseuk who will be back at his computer soon and I hear he's an amazing builder in Teen SL. I'd like to have him help design the ManorMeta MusicMashup, our teen Manor space with interactive music and artspaces in the ManorMeta style. Each propagated space is unique and there's a lot of room for creativity as we bring on teen interns building their own better worlds in Teen SL. Perhaps there will soon be islands in both worlds that connect and stay in touch! Can't wait to see more media, machinima, other mashups. We're going to the free culture/creative commons event at 6PM inworld today after 5PM gathering at Manor. See you there ;-)

I'm working on a visual presentation to show the working of the game (hopefully will get that ready in the next couple of days) Just met the green lanterns inworld and some might give me a hand with the scripting. I've got it in an applet form on my website with a languge called c++ which i believe is similar to SL but I don't know a lot about that. Give the game a shot and let me know what your experience is playing it. Play a Game

WWIIOL probably = WorldWarIIOnLine - Second Life saw a migration of many members of that MMO years ago.

I'm catching up with this thread in May and I'm a bit concerned how out of sync I am with the project that got me participating in Omidyar over the past few months. Sue, I think it's great that you were in communication in regards to your choice - I had no idea when I met you in-world you were no longer leading this project! I'm happy to see things are chugging along and as a budding project manager, I don't have any visibility into the production schedule of BWI - is there a project portal where I may see timelines and milestones somewhere and help direct efforts? I don't see anything on the projects page and really looking for something more advanced structurally than a wiki page at the moment.

None of the BWI builders are particularly web saavy (beyond Sue, our much-missed scoutbabe associate!). We need organizational assistance, good web and dynamic ad design and help bringing our events into the spotlight. Do you have any suggestions? We should have another meeting inworld this week in preparation for River's return....there's a lot of good ideas bouncing around but we've been moving in slow-mo since our owner has been away. That will change very soon! FYI: we're being discussed quite publically in the blogosphere, at universities and at conferences like the Metaverse RoadMap and the upcoming NetSquared conference. We need to figure out how to best put ourselves out there and bring in new scouts who can take on projects in line with our BWI mission. We're excited to step up our events schedule and do more mediamashing between SL and RL; we also need tourguides for Camp Darfur so that we can host regular events there. Thanks for the feedback on the one minute machinima....you'll see the challenges we're facing (low framerates, bad compression quality, varied video host capacities). It's good to know that it IS POSSIBLE to do daily/weekly machinima podcasts without too much time and effort in, but I can't focus on this and take on too many other projects....until we have interns in the studio full-time the machinima will likely continue at snails pace.

Do you do web development? Who are our scripters, builders, content creators? Perhaps we need a workspace around here to keep track of our scouts and skills. We've hit a lack of good dynamic web content creators amongst the scouts; the Camp Darfur banner ad and www.campdarfur.org/secondlife/ were never properly finished. If someone can take on that project for the Stratics campaign we can include the HTML for the Camp Darfur Comix: it's an easy upload once I have a URL available for it. My personal webspace is first priority now and we've got a lot of development here instudio left to go so I can't take leadership on this element. Chinarut? Dominique? Can you recruit more techies and web-saavy creatives for our team?

I like having a "screen" where you can watch BetterWorldTV; we've got no shortage of content from 2005 as well. Meron has the AIDS memorial information, there was the LovePositive video and other PeaceTiles content that can be brought in and remixed inworld. I'm not keen on the background and my browser did not want to click back to Omidyar Network at the end. Ah, and I have Camp Darfur Comix as HTML: shoot me an email and I'll respond with those .html files.

I've got the Comix allready but maybe you could email the Manormeta logo and some other things you think might be helpfull. I'll look into Drupal, or similar, to find a nice system for us to work with.

Evonne, I would love to step up on the project management front. Who is our resident PM expert on o.net? My only concern is I have limited time to devote to this role until I get some cash flow going. We have so many options from tried and true to cutting edge and for varying budgets and needs. You mentioned Croquet - as in Open Croquet? Looks bleeding edge - has anyone implemented this in SL? Is it possible to "straddle" 2D and 3D so we can get a 2D portal view at projects.betterworldisland.com ? I've got lots of questions and willing to host a conference call to meet the whole team and get our PM needs ironed out. I particularly want to get everyone's personal experience with PM systems and what works and doesn't work in a distributed, collaborated environment. I get the sense we have challenges that likely no one has ever had to deal with. My goal is to drive our technology choice and get something for us to play with.
